Pest control answering service, an answering service for pest control companies, pest control virtual receptionist and pest control call center that books inspections 24/7

Pest control calls come in when your people are least able to take them: under a house, on a roof, or driving between stops. A homeowner who just found termite wings on the windowsill calls you, reaches voicemail, and calls the next company on the list. PhoneAgent.ai answers every one of those calls, books the inspection on your calendar and texts the caller a confirmation.

The short answer

A pest control answering service answers your company's calls when your technicians are in a crawlspace or the office is closed, books inspections and treatments onto your calendar, and sends real emergencies to your on-call tech. For a company taking about 100 calls a month (300 minutes), published September 2026 pricing runs from $79 to $1,725: AI services cost $79 to $449 and live answering services about $384 to $1,725. PhoneAgent.ai is $89 a month flat on Starter, or $199 with warm transfer to your technician, and the price does not rise in swarm season.

Most pest control companies are small crews where the owner is also a technician and the office is one person, or nobody after 5pm. The phone is the sales team. A missed call in April is not a message you return later; it is a quarterly service plan that went to a competitor who picked up. That is the only problem this page is about, and the numbers below show what each way of solving it costs.

What follows is priced from each provider's own pricing page, including where a live answering service is the better buy and what our AI receptionist cannot do (it does not write into FieldRoutes, PestPac or GorillaDesk, for one).

Why it works

What your team gets with a pest control answering service

Answered while you are on route

It picks up on the first ring while your technicians are treating a yard or inspecting an attic, answers several callers at once on a busy spring morning, and never sends a new customer to voicemail.

Inspections booked on the call

It asks your qualifying questions (pest, property type, address, square footage, how urgent), then books the inspection or treatment into an open slot on your calendar and texts the caller a confirmation.

Flat price in swarm season

You pay $89, $199 or $399 a month. The April termite swarm and the August wasp rush cost the same as a quiet January, because nothing is billed by the minute.

What it handles

Answered, disclosed and booked on autopilot

The AI receptionist answers every call 24/7, discloses it is your AI assistant, qualifies and routes the caller, answers your FAQs, and books the appointment straight into your calendar, then texts a confirmation and, on Professional and above, syncs the contact to your CRM.

  • Answers every call 24/7, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Books inspections, initial treatments and follow-up visits into Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly or Acuity
  • Asks your qualifying questions: pest type, home or business, address, and how soon
  • Answers the questions you hear all day from your own FAQ list, such as service area, pet safety and plan options
  • Sends urgent calls to your on-call technician by your rules (warm transfer on Professional and Practice)
  • Takes existing customer messages for re-treatments and rescheduling
  • Handles calls in English or Spanish, detected on the caller's first sentence
  • Texts back any caller who hangs up before the call is answered

Answers every call

It answers on the first ring, 24/7, discloses it is your AI assistant, and holds a natural conversation, so no caller is ever sent to voicemail.

Honest and consent-aware

It tells callers it is an AI, recording is optional and consent-aware per state, and outbound texts are TCPA-aware with opt-outs honored.

Books the appointment

Callers get booked straight into your calendar, texted a confirmation and, on qualifying plans, synced to your CRM, so the appointment is on the books before you check.

Compare

What a pest control answering service costs at 100 and 250 calls

Every row is priced from the provider's own published pricing, checked in September 2026. The model is a small pest control company taking 100 calls in a typical month and 250 in a peak spring month, at a three minute average call (300 and 750 minutes). The call counts are our working assumption, not an industry benchmark, so rerun the math with your own phone bill. Rows run from cheapest to most expensive in a typical month.

Provider Who answers How it bills Typical month, 100 calls Peak month, 250 calls
Goodcall AI Flat per agent, metered by unique caller ($0.50 each over the plan) $79 (Starter, 100 unique callers) $129 (Growth, 250 unique callers)
PhoneAgent.ai Starter AI Flat monthly, about 150 calls included $89 $199 (move up to Professional)
Rosie AI Minute buckets, calendar booking from the $149 plan $149 (1,000 minutes) $149
PhoneAgent.ai Professional AI Flat monthly, about 500 calls, warm transfer to your tech $199 $199
Smith.ai AI receptionist AI Per call bundles $270 (150 call plan) $500 (300 call plan)
Specialty Answering Service Live Minute plans, billed by the second About $384 (220 minutes for $269, then 80 at $1.44) About $984 (500 minutes for $649, then 250 at $1.34)
AnswerConnect Live Minute plans, every call rounded up to the whole minute $395 before rounding (Growth, 300 minutes) $1,050 before rounding (750 minutes)
MAP Communications Live Minute plans About $403 (250 minutes for $339, then 50 at $1.28) About $969 (500 minutes for $649, then 250 at $1.28)
Sameday AI Minute plans $449 (500 minutes) $789 (1,000 minutes)
Ruby Live Minute buckets, no overage rate published $1,725 (500 minute plan; the 200 minute plan is $720) Quote (above the largest published plan)
Nexa, Slingshot Live Quote only Not published Not published

The live rows roughly double or triple between the typical and the peak month, because a minute costs the same whether it is January or April. Goodcall counts a customer who calls three times about the same nest as one caller. AnswerConnect rounds every call up to the next whole minute, so its real bill runs above the figure shown.

What does a pest control answering service do?

It answers the phone for your company when nobody in the office can, and turns each call into the right next step. For a pest control business three kinds of call make up most of the volume, and each one needs a different outcome.

A new customer asking about ants, rodents, termites or bed bugs needs to be qualified and booked for an inspection before they hang up and dial the next company. An existing customer who needs a re-treatment, wants to move a visit or has a billing question needs a message your office can act on in the morning. A caller with something urgent, a wasp nest over the front door with an allergic child in the house or rodents in a restaurant kitchen the night before a health inspection, needs to reach a person tonight.

A traditional answering service handles all three by taking a message. PhoneAgent.ai books the first kind on the call, logs the second, and sends the third to your on-call technician by the rules you set. If you run HVAC or plumbing crews as well, the same setup is described on the home services AI receptionist page.

How much does a pest control answering service cost?

For a company taking about 100 calls a month, published September 2026 pricing puts a pest control answering service between $79 and $1,725 a month, and the spread comes almost entirely from how the provider counts usage.

Live answering services bill by the minute. Specialty Answering Service sells 220 minutes for $269 and charges $1.44 a minute after that, which is about $384 for 300 minutes. MAP Communications sells 250 minutes for $339 with $1.28 overage, about $403. AnswerConnect's Growth plan is $395 for 300 minutes, but it rounds every call up to the next minute. Ruby's plans run from $250 for 50 minutes to $1,725 for 500, with no overage rate on its pricing page.

AI services bill differently. Goodcall is $79 a month and meters unique callers, Rosie sells minute buckets with calendar booking starting on its $149 plan, and Smith.ai's AI receptionist sells call bundles from $270 for 150 calls. PhoneAgent.ai is a flat $89, $199 or $399 a month. The full cross-industry comparison is on our answering service cost page.

Why does swarm season change the math?

Pest control technician treating a house foundation while his phone rings on the grass

Because pest control call volume is seasonal and minute billing follows it up. Termite swarms bring a rush of spring calls in much of the country, stinging insects peak in late summer, and rodent calls pick up when the weather turns cold. A company that takes 100 calls in January can easily take two or three times that in its busiest month.

Run the table's peak column and the difference is plain. At 250 calls a month, the live services land between about $969 and $1,050, and Ruby has no published plan big enough. The per-call AI plan roughly doubles to $500. The flat plans barely move: Rosie stays at $149, Goodcall steps up to $129, and PhoneAgent.ai moves from Starter to Professional at $199 and stays there.

That matters most in exactly the month you can least afford a surprise invoice, because it is the month you are also paying overtime and buying product. If a flat monthly bill is the main thing you are shopping for, flat rate answering service explains which plans in this category are truly flat and which are prepaid minute buckets.

Can an AI receptionist book pest control inspections?

Pest control office manager reviewing booked inspections on a calendar

Yes, as long as your schedule lives in a calendar it can see. PhoneAgent.ai connects to Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly or Acuity, reads your open slots, and books the inspection during the call. You decide the appointment types (free estimate, initial treatment, termite inspection, follow-up), how long each one takes, and which days each technician covers.

On the call it asks what you would ask: what pest they are seeing and where, whether it is a home or a business, the address and gate or pet notes, and how soon they need someone. It answers the questions you give it answers to, such as whether you service their zip code, whether treatments are safe around pets, and what your quarterly plan includes. Then it books the slot and texts the caller the date and time.

What it will not do is quote a firm price for a job your technician has not seen. Most pest control companies price after the inspection, and the receptionist says so, which is also what keeps you out of disputes about a number a phone agent promised.

Does it work with FieldRoutes, PestPac or GorillaDesk?

Not directly, and it is better to know that before you buy. PhoneAgent.ai does not write into FieldRoutes, PestPac, GorillaDesk, Briostack, ServSuite, Pocomos, ServiceTitan or any other field service platform. It captures each call with the customer name, address, pest, property type and callback number, and sends it to your team by text and email with the transcript, so your office can create the customer record in a minute.

It books straight into Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly or Acuity. Plenty of small pest control companies run their schedule in one of those, and larger ones often keep a shared calendar for estimates and inspections even when routes live in their field software.

If you need a receptionist that creates the work order inside your routing software on its own, look at vendors that list that integration by name, and ask to see it working on a demo call. Sameday lists pro scheduling integrations such as ServiceTitan on its $449 and $789 plans. Expect to pay several times our price for it.

What counts as a pest control emergency after hours?

Wasp nest above a front porch at dusk while the homeowner calls for help

Whatever you say counts, and writing it down is the most useful hour you will spend setting up any answering service. Most owners end up with a short list along these lines.

Stinging insects near a door, a play area or a person with a known allergy. Rodents or cockroaches in a commercial kitchen, food plant or other account with an inspection or audit coming. Bees swarming on a structure. Wildlife inside the living space, if you handle wildlife. Everything else, including most bed bug calls, a single mouse sighting, ants in the kitchen or a termite inspection for a home sale, is urgent to the caller but can be booked for the next available slot.

PhoneAgent.ai asks your triage questions on every call, the same way at 2pm and 2am. On Professional and Practice it warm transfers the calls on your list to your on-call technician and books the rest. On Starter it takes the details and sends them to you by text and email straight away.

Live answering service or AI for a pest control company?

For most of the calls a pest control company gets, an AI receptionist is faster and cheaper. It answers on the first ring, it takes five spring calls at once, it books the inspection instead of taking a message, and it does not bill by the minute. It is also the only way to get round the clock coverage with booking for under $200 a month.

A live answering service is the better buy when a large share of your calls need judgment rather than a script: angry customers, complicated commercial accounts, or callers who will only talk to a person. If that describes your phone, Specialty Answering Service and MAP Communications publish their prices and bill fairly for live coverage, and our Rosie alternative and Goodcall alternative pages compare the AI options in detail.

PhoneAgent.ai tells every caller in its first sentence that it is an AI assistant for your company. On Professional and Practice a caller who asks for a person gets transferred. Callers who hang up before it answers get a text back, which is covered on missed call text back.
