Goodcall pricing: what the Goodcall AI receptionist per customer model costs at 100, 400 and 800 callers a month

Goodcall charges $79, $129 or $249 a month per agent, 15 percent off annually, with unlimited minutes but a metered allowance of 100, 250 or 500 unique customers and $0.50 for each one after. Here is the full cost table at eight volumes, the two crossover points nobody publishes (200 and 490 callers), what a unique customer actually means for your bill, and where the per-agent structure catches multi-location businesses out.

Goodcall pricing is $79, $129 or $249 a month per agent on monthly billing, with a 15 percent discount for paying annually ($66, $108 and $208). Minutes and AI tokens are not metered. What is metered is unique customers: 100, 250 or 500 a month depending on tier, then $0.50 for every additional unique phone number that calls you. Checked August 2026.

That last sentence is the whole pricing model, and it is unusual enough in this category that it is worth slowing down on. Almost every other AI receptionist bills you for minutes or calls. Goodcall bills you for people. Two businesses with identical call volume can get invoices that differ by a factor of two, and which one you are depends on something most owners have never measured: how many of your callers are the same person calling back.

How much does Goodcall cost?

Here is the published rate card, taken from Goodcall's own pricing page in August 2026. Prices are per agent. An agent is one configured AI receptionist, so a second location or a second phone tree that needs its own logic is a second agent at the same price again.

Plan Monthly Annual (15% off) Unique customers included Over that Logic flows
Starter $79 / agent $66 / agent 100 a month $0.50 each 1
Growth $129 / agent $108 / agent 250 a month $0.50 each 3
Scale $249 / agent $208 / agent 500 a month $0.50 each 25
Enterprise Custom, quoted by their sales team

The tiers also differ on things that are not price: team members (3, 9, 50), directory contacts for transfers (3, 25, 500) and how long call and customer detail is retained (7 days, 30 days, unlimited). The 7 day retention on Starter is the one to check before you buy. If you ever need to go back and listen to what a caller actually said three weeks ago, and in a dispute you will, Starter will not have it.

What counts as a unique customer?

A unique customer is a distinct phone number that calls you within the billing month. If the same number calls four times in March, that is one unique customer in March, not four. If it calls again in April, it is one unique customer again in April.

This is the single most important thing to understand before you compare Goodcall to anything else, because it decouples your bill from your call volume. A dental practice where patients call twice about the same appointment, a property manager fielding the same six tenants all week, or a repair shop with regulars will all pay well below what their raw call count suggests. A contractor running lead ads, where nearly every call is a stranger, pays close to the sticker rate on every one.

So before you price Goodcall, pull last month's call log and count distinct numbers, not calls. Most phone systems will export it. The ratio between those two figures is what decides whether this model is cheap for you or expensive.

What Goodcall actually costs at 100, 400 and 800 unique callers

Every figure below is monthly billing, one agent, computed from the published base price plus $0.50 for each unique customer over the included allowance. The cheapest plan at each volume is in the last column.

Unique callers a month Starter Growth Scale Cheapest
100$79$129$249Starter, $0.79 each
200$129$129$249Tie, $0.65 each
250$154$129$249Growth, $0.52 each
400$229$204$249Growth, $0.51 each
490$274$249$249Tie, $0.51 each
600$329$304$299Scale, $0.50 each
800$429$404$399Scale, $0.50 each
1,200$629$604$599Scale, $0.50 each

Annual billing takes 15 percent off the base fee only. The $0.50 per extra customer does not move, so at high volume the annual discount shrinks toward nothing as a share of the invoice: it saves $41 a month on Scale at 500 callers and the same $41 at 1,200 callers, where it is worth less than 7 percent of the bill.

The two crossover points nobody publishes

Because every tier shares the same $0.50 overage, the plans converge in a way that is easy to state exactly.

  • At 200 unique callers, Starter and Growth cost the same $129. Below 200, Starter is cheaper. Above 200, Growth is cheaper, and the gap widens by $0.50 for every caller after that. If you are on Starter and regularly clearing 200 numbers a month, you are paying more for less.
  • At 490 unique callers, Growth and Scale cost the same $249. Below 490, Growth wins. Above 490, Scale wins, and you also pick up unlimited retention, 500 directory contacts and 25 logic flows for the same money.

Past 500 callers all three plans charge exactly $0.50 for every additional person, so the tier stops mattering to the marginal cost and the whole bill becomes a straight line. From there, the only pricing question left is whether $0.50 a caller is a good price for you, and the answer depends entirely on what a caller is worth. For a plumber taking $400 jobs it is a rounding error. For a business where a call is worth $15, it is not.

Goodcall is priced per agent, and that matters with more than one location

Every price on the card is per agent. Two locations that need different greetings, different hours and different booking rules are two agents, so a two-shop operation on Growth is $258 a month before any overage, not $129. Three is $387.

This is easy to miss when you are comparing against services that price per business. It is not a criticism of Goodcall so much as a warning about apples and oranges: a multi-location comparison has to multiply the Goodcall column and not the others. It is the same trap we work through on the Goodcall alternative comparison, where the per-agent structure shows up again on the feature limits.

Where Goodcall earns its price

Unlimited minutes is a genuine advantage and should be said plainly. If your calls run long, and service businesses taking an address, a description of the problem and a time slot regularly hit five or six minutes, Goodcall's bill does not notice. A per-minute service notices enormously. Against a legacy answering service charging $1.20 to $1.55 a minute, Goodcall at $0.50 to $0.79 a caller is not in the same universe of cost.

The logic flow builder is the other real strength, particularly on Scale with 25 flows. If your call handling genuinely branches, different questions for a new customer than a returning one, different routing by service type, that is what you are paying the tier difference for. On Starter's single flow you get one path and no branching worth the name.

Where it gets awkward is the pricing model's blind spot. Because you are billed per person rather than per call, a small number of callers who ring twenty times each cost you almost nothing, while a marketing campaign that produces 300 first-time calls in a week lands on the invoice immediately. If most of your new callers arrive from search rather than paid ads, that spike is a lot more predictable, and it is worth knowing how many pages you have actually answering the questions those people type before you assume next month looks like this one.

How Goodcall pricing compares with a flat monthly plan

The alternative model in this category is a flat fee with no meter of any kind. PhoneAgent.ai is $89, $199 or $399 a month covering roughly 150, 500 and 1,500 calls, with no per-minute charge and no per-caller charge. Compared like for like at a business where most callers are new:

Volume Goodcall (best plan, monthly) PhoneAgent.ai
100 unique callers$79$89
250 unique callers$129$199
490 unique callers$249$199
800 unique callers$399$399
1,200 unique callers$599$399

Below about 300 callers Goodcall is the cheaper of the two, and honestly so. Above roughly 500 the flat plan pulls ahead and keeps pulling, because one side has a meter and the other does not. The crossover is not a marketing line, it is arithmetic you can redo yourself in a spreadsheet in two minutes, and you should. Our own AI receptionist pricing comparison runs the same exercise across seventeen vendors.

Is Goodcall worth it?

For a single-location small business under about 250 unique callers a month with long calls, yes, comfortably. Unlimited minutes at $79 to $129 is a good deal against anything metered, and the per-customer model quietly rewards businesses with loyal repeat callers.

It gets less compelling in three situations. Multiple locations, where the per-agent price multiplies. High volumes of first-time callers, where $0.50 each compounds into a variable bill you cannot forecast. And any business that needs more than 7 days of call history on the entry plan, which pushes you to Growth for a reason that has nothing to do with capacity.

Whichever way you land, do the count first. Distinct numbers, not calls, for a full month. That one figure tells you more about what Goodcall will cost you than the price list does, and it is the number to bring to every other vendor conversation too. If you are shortlisting, the best AI receptionist comparison and the Rosie alternative page price the two closest competitors on the same basis.
