MAP Communications pricing is $49 a month for Pay As You Go, $179 for Business, $339 for Enterprise and $649 for Premium. Those plans include 0, 125, 250 and 500 minutes respectively, with additional minutes costing $1.37, $1.30, $1.28 and $1.28. At 100 calls averaging three minutes, Enterprise is the cheapest MAP option at $403, or $4.03 per call, before any additional fees.
If your calls mainly need answering and appointment booking, compare PhoneAgent.ai plans and pricing before choosing a minute allowance. Starter is $89 flat for about 150 calls, with AI disclosed on every call. The comparison below also shows where paying for a human receptionist makes sense.
How much does MAP Communications cost?
The prices below were read on October 25, 2026, from the MAP Communications pricing page. The monthly charge buys an allowance, except on Pay As You Go, where every minute costs extra. MAP Communications cost therefore depends on both your plan and the minutes your calls consume.
| MAP Communications plan | Monthly price | Included minutes | Each additional minute |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay As You Go | $49 | 0 | $1.37 |
| Business, marked Most Popular | $179 | 125 | $1.30 |
| Enterprise | $339 | 250 | $1.28 |
| Premium | $649 | 500 | $1.28 |
For budgeting, use the monthly price plus minutes above the allowance multiplied by the additional minute rate. Staying within the allowance leaves the base charge unchanged. The lowest advertised monthly price is therefore not the expected bill unless you take no calls on Pay As You Go.
Older third-party reviews have quoted a $42 plan with 30 minutes or starting prices of $47. Those are dated third-party reports, not current MAP Communications pricing. If you search for MAP Communications reviews pricing, check the date and compare the figures with this published grid before using them in a budget.
What does each MAP Communications plan include?
Every plan lists a toll-free number, 24/7 coverage, free message delivery, a secure client portal, and English and Spanish answering. MAP uses real people to answer calls. The card also lists full customization and no long-term contracts across all four plans, so the main published differences are the allowance and minute rate.
For medical offices, the page lists HIPAA compliance, PCI-DSS, HITRUST and SOC 2. These are the provider's published claims, and an office should confirm the documentation and responsibilities that apply to its workflow. When signing up with an answering service, offices can use compliance software to track HIPAA and SOC 2 vendor obligations alongside their internal review.
Full customization does not mean every custom workflow is included in the base price. MAP says custom scripts and workflows can add fees without publishing amounts. Ask for your actual intake instructions to be priced, especially if a law or medical office needs a particular handoff after the initial message.
MAP Communications cost per call at real volumes
The table assumes a three minute average call, so minutes equal calls multiplied by three. It uses the published base prices and additional minute rates only. These are planning estimates, not invoice guarantees, because MAP does not publish billing increments or rounding on the pricing page.
| Monthly calls | Minutes | Pay As You Go | Business | Enterprise | Premium | Cheapest cost per call |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 150 | $254.50 | $211.50 | $339 | $649 | $4.23, Business |
| 100 | 300 | $460 | $406.50 | $403 | $649 | $4.03, Enterprise |
| 150 | 450 | $665.50 | $601.50 | $595 | $649 | $3.97, Enterprise |
| 300 | 900 | $1,282 | $1,186.50 | $1,171 | $1,161 | $3.87, Premium |
At 50 calls, Business costs $179 plus 25 additional minutes at $1.30, totaling $211.50. At 100 calls, Enterprise costs $339 plus 50 minutes at $1.28, totaling $403. Business would cost $406.50 at that same volume, so the larger allowance saves only $3.50.
At 150 calls, Enterprise costs $339 plus 200 minutes at $1.28, totaling $595. Premium still costs $649 despite containing the whole allowance you need. At 300 calls, Premium costs $649 plus 400 minutes at $1.28, totaling $1,161, compared with $1,171 on Enterprise. Cost per call is the monthly total divided by calls, rounded to cents.
Which MAP Communications plan is cheapest for your call volume?
Choose by total minutes rather than the plan name or Most Popular badge. A smaller plan with some additional minutes can remain cheaper than the next allowance. Using the published rates, the price crossovers are approximately 95, 248 and 492 minutes per month.
- Below about 95 minutes, Pay As You Go is cheapest among MAP plans. Its $49 base can suit very low volume businesses that want human answering.
- From about 95 to 248 minutes, Business is cheapest, including some usage above its 125 minute allowance.
- From about 248 to 492 minutes, Enterprise is cheapest, even when usage exceeds its 250 included minutes.
- Above about 492 minutes, Premium is cheapest among the four published plans.
The exact crossover points are about 94.89, 248.08 and 492.19 minutes, where the neighboring plans tie. These thresholds assume the same billed usage and no additional fees on either plan. Measure your own call lengths before converting a call count into a plan choice, particularly when intake conversations vary in length.
What MAP Communications does not publish
The pricing page does not state billing increments or rounding, setup fees, trial length, or holiday surcharges. It says "No credit card required" to get started, but that does not establish a particular trial duration or prove that setup is free. Get each missing term in writing before signing up.
Ask when the minute timer starts and stops, how transfers are counted, and whether rounding applies to each interaction. Request a sample invoice using your expected call mix. The difference between elapsed minutes and billed minutes can change which plan looks cheapest, so do not substitute another provider's billing rules for MAP's.
Also request the price of every custom script or workflow, any holiday charges, setup costs, and cancellation terms. No long-term contract is useful flexibility, but you still need the notice requirements. A written total should distinguish the base plan, additional usage and any custom work rather than leaving the latter open.
MAP Communications vs other answering services at 100 calls
Here is the same 100 call, 300 minute scenario using published prices from earlier verified posts on this site. PATLive, Specialty Answering Service and Moneypenny rates were verified October 15, 2026, AnswerForce October 20, and Smith.ai October 14. AI plans use call allowances, so the services are not identical.
| Service | Who answers | Plan or calculation | Monthly cost at 100 calls |
|---|---|---|---|
| PhoneAgent.ai | AI | Starter, about 150 calls | $89 flat |
| Smith.ai AI receptionist | AI | 150 call plan | $270 |
| Specialty Answering Service | Live | $269 for 220 minutes plus 80 at $1.44 | $384.20 |
| AnswerForce | Live | Best Value, 300 minutes | $389 |
| MAP Communications | Live | Enterprise plus 50 minutes at $1.28 | $403 |
| PATLive | Live | 300 minute plan | $479 |
| Moneypenny live | Live | $422 for 200 minutes plus 100 at $1.91 | $613 |
PATLive's $189 plan includes 100 minutes with $2.09 additional minutes. Moving to its 200 minute plan gives $349 plus 100 at $1.99, or $548, while the 300 minute plan is cheaper at $479. Moneypenny's $613 calculation is cheaper than its $985 plan with 500 minutes.
MAP is cheaper here than PATLive and Moneypenny, while Specialty Answering Service and AnswerForce cost less. Read the PATLive pricing and AnswerForce pricing breakdowns for their billing details. Is MAP Communications worth it?
MAP is worth considering when you want real people answering, English and Spanish coverage, and no long-term contract. The listed HIPAA compliance and SOC 2 credentials give medical offices specific documentation to request. Pay As You Go also keeps the base commitment low for offices with very few calls, although every minute is charged.
It is less compelling if you only need routine questions answered and appointments booked at a predictable price. Conversely, an AI receptionist may not fit callers who insist on a human or calls involving complex triage. For medical or legal intake, agree on the limits of the answering role and the handoff to your staff before comparing price alone.
MAP Communications alternative with a flat monthly price
PhoneAgent.ai Starter costs $89 flat for about 150 calls and books appointments. It discloses that it is an AI receptionist on every call. Professional costs $199 for about 500 calls and adds warm transfer and routing. Choose based on the handoff you need as well as volume, since Starter does not include warm transfer.
A flat rate answering service can make routine call handling easier to budget. If your callers need a person, MAP remains a reasonable live option to price. Otherwise, compare PhoneAgent.ai pricing with MAP's written total, including additional minutes and custom workflow fees, before making the decision.
