PATLive pricing and PATLive cost per minute and per call for every plan

PATLive charges $49 a month pay as you go or $99 to $759 for 50 to 500 minutes, with extra minutes at $2.29 down to $1.79, no contract and a 14 day trial. The card changed in 2026, so older comparisons quote prices that no longer exist. Here is every plan as a cost per call, the six second billing rule, the crossover between plans and what the same calls cost elsewhere.

PATLive pricing starts at $49 a month with no included minutes and $2.99 for every minute, and its bundled plans run $99 for 50 minutes, $189 for 100, $349 for 200, $479 for 300 and $759 for 500, with larger plans up to $6,899 for 5,000 minutes. Extra minutes cost $2.29 down to $1.49 depending on the plan. There is no contract, no setup fee listed and a 14 day free trial. We read the card on PATLive's own pricing page on October 2, 2026.

That works out to roughly $4.50 to $6 for a typical three minute call on the plans a small business actually buys. Two details on the card move the real bill more than the headline price: PATLive bills the first minute of every call in full, and unused minutes vanish at the end of the month. Both are worked through below, along with the call volume where each plan stops being the cheap one and what the same calls cost elsewhere.

How much does PATLive cost?

Here is the full live call answering card, with each plan converted to an effective rate per included minute and to the cost of one three minute call. PATLive prints its own call estimate under each plan, which assumes about two and a half minutes a call.

Every plan includes the same services: call screening and transfers, message taking, lead collection, appointment scheduling, emergency dispatch, event registrations, new client intake and order taking. You are buying a volume of receptionist time, not a feature tier. PATLive also sells live web chat from $19 a month plus $9.95 a chat, and outbound calling from $19 a month plus $8.95 an outreach, on separate cards. Prices exclude taxes and fees.

Did PATLive change its pricing in 2026?

Yes, and it matters if you are reading older comparisons. Earlier in 2026 PATLive's card started at $75 a month pay as you go at $2.60 a minute, with bundles of $250 for 75 minutes, $460 for 200, $720 for 350 and $1,170 for 600. The current card has more steps and lower prices at every size a small business buys: 200 minutes went from $460 to $349, and the entry price fell from $75 to $49. The one rate that went up is pay as you go, from $2.60 to $2.99 a minute.

Many review sites and competitor blogs still quote the old numbers, including the $20 a month bilingual surcharge PATLive no longer charges. If a comparison you are reading says PATLive starts at $75 or $250, it predates the current card.

How does PATLive bill a minute?

PATLive bills the first minute of every call in full and then every tenth of a minute after that, in six second increments. It counts only the time a receptionist is on the phone with your caller. Package minutes do not roll over to the next month.

The first minute rule is the one to model. A 15 second wrong number, a robocall the receptionist screens out or a caller who just wants your address each cost a full minute. If a fifth of your 200 monthly calls are that short, those 40 calls bill as 40 minutes instead of about 10. On the 200 minute plan that is roughly 30 minutes of allowance gone to calls that took under a minute, worth about $60 at the overage rate. It is fairer than a vendor that rounds every call up to the next whole minute (AnswerConnect does), but it is not per second billing either.

No rollover cuts the other way. Buy the 300 minute plan for a 250 minute month and the unused 50 minutes, about $80 of what you paid, are gone on the first of the month.

Which PATLive plan is cheapest for your call volume?

Because overage on a smaller plan costs more per minute than the next plan's average, there is a crossover point between each pair of plans. Below it, the smaller plan plus overage is cheaper. Above it, move up.

  • Pay as you go: only below about 17 minutes a month. At 17 minutes it already costs $99.83, more than the 50 minute plan.
  • 50 minutes ($99): cheapest up to about 89 minutes.
  • 100 minutes ($189): cheapest from about 89 to 177 minutes.
  • 200 minutes ($349): cheapest from about 177 to 265 minutes.
  • 300 minutes ($479): cheapest from about 265 to 448 minutes.
  • 500 minutes ($759): cheapest from about 448 to 913 minutes, after which the 1,000 minute plan wins.

Measure your real minutes from a month of phone bills before choosing. Most small businesses guess high, and PATLive lets you upgrade or downgrade at any time, so start one plan below your guess and move up if overage appears two months running.

What PATLive costs against the alternatives

The same three call volumes priced across the services people usually shortlist with PATLive, at a three minute average call. Every figure comes from each provider's own published pricing, checked between late September and October 2, 2026, using whichever plan or plan plus overage is cheapest.

Provider Who answers 50 calls (150 min) 100 calls (300 min) 200 calls (600 min)

PhoneAgent.aiAI, flat fee$89$89$199
Smith.ai AI receptionistAI$150$270$500
MAP CommunicationsLive$211.50$403$777
PATLiveLive$293.50$479$938
PoshLive$322.50$630$1,170
AnswerConnectLive$350$395$887.50
RubyLive$720$1,725Quote (largest plan is 500 minutes)

Among live services PATLive sits in the middle. MAP Communications is cheaper at every volume here, AnswerConnect is cheaper at 100 and 200 calls because its 300 minute Growth plan and big bundles are unusually good value (but it rounds every call up to a whole minute, which the table does not include), and Posh and Ruby cost more. PATLive's edge over the cheaper live options is not price. It is the all inclusive feature list, free Spanish, the 14 day trial and US based receptionists.

Against AI the gap is large. At 100 calls a month PATLive's $479 compares with $89 for a flat AI plan that also books the appointment on the call. The full field, with every vendor's rate card, is on our answering service cost page.

Is PATLive worth the price?

For a business whose callers need a person, often yes. PATLive's receptionists are US based, bilingual English and Spanish answering is included at no extra charge, nothing is contract bound, and every plan carries the full feature set, so you never pay extra to unlock appointment scheduling or intake. Those are real advantages over vendors that sell features by tier or charge per booking.

It is harder to justify when most of your calls are routine: booking, rescheduling, hours, directions, "do you service my area". You would be paying $4.50 to $6 a call for a person to do what software now does on the first ring for a flat fee. That is where an AI receptionist earns its place, either as a replacement or on after hours and overflow while a person keeps business hours. Our PATLive alternative page compares the two approaches in detail, and flat rate answering service shows which plans in this category truly stay flat when volume moves.

One more option if most callers only want a time slot: put an online booking system on your website so they book before they ever dial, and let the phone handle the calls that need a conversation.

Does PATLive charge a setup fee?

PATLive's pricing page and FAQ list no setup fee as of October 2026. Billing starts after the 14 day free trial, and the billing cycle is set by the day you sign up. Prices exclude taxes and fees, so expect a few percent on top of the plan price.

Do PATLive minutes roll over?

No. PATLive states that package minutes do not roll over from month to month, so every month starts with your plan's allowance and unused minutes are lost. That makes choosing the plan at the right crossover point more important than with a vendor that banks unused time.

Does PATLive charge extra for Spanish?

No. PATLive offers bilingual English and Spanish receptionists at no extra charge on every plan. Older reviews mention a $20 a month bilingual add-on, which is no longer on the card. If your Spanish speaking callers ring outside business hours, ask which hours bilingual coverage runs before you sign.

Does PATLive have an AI receptionist?

Its published pricing page lists live receptionist, live chat and outbound calling plans only, with no AI answering plan priced. If you want AI answering at a flat price, PhoneAgent.ai is $89 a month for about 150 calls, $199 for about 500 and $399 for about 1,500, with booking, missed call text back and transcripts on every plan, and it says in its first sentence that it is an AI assistant for your business.
